Here you will find the extended lists of all classes that are open for enrollment. The classes listed in this section are not guaranteed to run. Simply register in advance at the proper location for the class you wish to attend. You will be contacted if the class you registered for failed to gain enough enrollment. In that case, you are welcome to attend any of our other running classes or a refund can be issued. Classes need to have an enrollment of at least 4 students to run, if this enrollment number is not reached one week prior to the first class, the class will be canceled for the month.
All Creative Side students and prospective students must register and pay for ALL classes provided in the given month, whether they attend them or not. Though we can not pro-rate for any reason, we do offer make-up classes for any classes you are unable to attend, they are to be scheduled by you and the instructor during a month the student is currently enrolled in our classes. For this reason, Free Trials must be scheduled prior to the month you wish to register for. Please schedule your make-up classes or Free Trial with an instructor (or by contacting Debby), not the front desk.
If you have any questions related to the schedules, payment, or supplies feel free to contact Deborah Munro.
Class Descriptions:
The Creative Side Inc. offers art classes that are always fresh, fun, and interesting. Students have a blast, while learning the creative possibilities they are capable of, often creating pieces of art they came into class, not believing they could achieve. The classes are carefully instructed as to provide encouragement, peer support, and a heightened sense of self-esteem. We aim for our students to not only attain a sturdy grasp on the foundation of all great artwork, like proportion, shading, composition and color blending, but will introduce them to the professional elements of art, like proper conduct, planning art with an audience in mind, and prepping finished pieces for display. All of these skills our students learn are built within our exciting lesson plans, so the fun, which is oh so important, is never sacrificed. Students who join our class should brace themselves for the master artist they‘ll unleash within themselves, and bring with them their own personal interests, so our instructor can prepare future lessons with them in mind.
Drawing & Painting
Students learn about the materials and tools, planning a painting, techniques, color basics and mixing colors, and light and shadow using water colors and/or acrylics. Students will also learn basic drawing skills such as composition, proportion, placement and shading. Class assignments are age appropriate and are geared to help the individual child express his/her own creative ideas at their level of artistic ability. New ideas are introduced each month so come back again and again for more creative fun!!
After-School
This class is arranged with your school through your Parks & Rec. service. Children stay after-school (check with your school to see if they participate), have snacks for 15 minutes and then make art for the rest of class (45 minutes). Parents pick children up after class at your school. Class is run the same as our Drawing & Painting classes
Advanced
When you see an advanced class listed, or that a class allows advanced students, it means that the class is structured in a way that allows students more control over their projects, and allows much more room for experimenting with new techniques and materials, instructors are ready to provide you with stronger challenges and push you to be your best, the classes are longer and allow you to get lost in your art
Homeschool:
These classes are designed like our Drawing & Painting classes, but in the daytime
Summer Camps
Our Summer Art Camps include the Drawing and Painting style lessons that everyone loves but is also a chance for your young artist to explore exciting new materials and techniques, A few examples from past camps are Wire/Clay Sculpture, Animations, Carving, Junk Art.
